I got my start in the world of content writing about personal finance topics that students care about—everything from student loans to dining on a dime. I produced well over 100 articles over 2 years, building up a penchant for editorial excellence along the way. SALT has since been retired by American Student Assistance, but I’ll never forget what it taught me.

About a year into my time at SALT, American Student Assistance decided to create further discussion about personal finance with an online community. My role changed from being a strict content creator to a conversation starter. I’d use my articles to start, facilitate, and moderate discussions with community members.
